Facilitation Centre for Industrial Plasma Technologies (FCIPT)

Facilitation Centre for Industrial Plasma Technologies (FCIPT) is a division under Institute for Plasma Research (IPR) which mainly focuses on technology development for social benefits and industries. FCIPT develops plasma based technologies and commercialises through Technology Transfer to industrial partners. Some of the Social beneficial technologies developed by FCIPT are as below. For complete details visit www.plasmaindia.com.

Reducing erosion & corrosion of metals

Plasma nitriding process is used as surface hardening technique in most of the industrial sectors like automobile, textiles, machinery, etc. The salient features of the technology are
  • —  Environmentally friendly technique
  • —  Least possible distortion and negligible dimensional changes
  • —  High reproducibility
  • —  No grinding is required
  • —  Easy to manipulate to surface with required phase
  • —  No salt residues, therefore no removal expenses caused by       those undesirable salt deposits on the work piece surface, in     holes and threads required
  • —  Reduced time duration cycles
  • No harmful emissions like cyanide or ammonia
