Main Objective

Design and development of First Wall Components of SST-1 Tokamak. First Wall Components (also called as Plasma Facing Components PFC) include :

  • Divertors,
  • Limiters,
  • Baffles,
  • Passive Stabilizers.

Current Activities

  1. Assembly and alignment of Inboard and Outboard Poloidal Limiters of SST-1 Tokamak (...Completed)
  2. Development of software for Data Acquisition of First Wall Components (...Completed)
  3. Integration of First Wall Data Acquisition System with SST-1 Operation and Control System;
  4. Brazing Technology Development for joining Graphite, CFC & Tungsten to CopperAlloy;
  5. Setting up of Vacuum Brazing Furnace for development of Brazing Technology;
  6. Setting up of facility to provide water at high pressure and temperature;
