SST-1 MAGNET GROUP
Group Leader: SUBRATA PRADHAN(pradhan at ipr.res.in)
Members of the Group
Main Objective
Magnet Group is involved in the design, developement and validation tests of large volume high field superconducting and resistive magnets aimed at Tokamak and laboratory applications. The group is also actively engaged in developing various associated technologies required for large size modern magnets. Developemnt of various kinds of state-of-the-art sensors and diagnostics required for superconducting magnets as well as developement of VME based data acquisition and control systems have been the other prime objectives of the group.
Current Activities
Assembly and Integration of the SST-1 magnets with other subsystems of Steady State Tokamak (SST-1)
In-house fabrication of the Joints in the SST-1 Superconducting Magnets
Developement of VxWorks based Application Program for VME system
Developement of Quench Detection system for SST-1 Magnets
Special Equipments
VME based Data Acquisition system
PC based Data Acquisition system
