How to Reach

Indian Institute of Geomagnetism (IIG)Plot No.5, Sector-18, Near Kalamboli highway,

IIG located near Kalamboli Circle, Opp: Asudgaon (NMMT) Bus Depot, New Panvel (W), on the Mumbai-Panvel Road. The nearest bus stop is Kalamboli Highway (4 km from Panvel station, 2 km from Khandeshwar station). The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Mumbai, is about 40 km away. How to reach IIG by train:
Mumbai has several major train stations like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT), Mumbai Central, Bandra, Dadar, and Panvel. After alighting in any of these stations, one can reach IIG at the above address using some local transportation.
Local trains are the best and cheapest local transportation to reach IIG. The Mumbai local train map is enclosed for quick reference (Figure 2). The nearest local train station to IIG is "Khandeswar" on the harbor line (dark blue line) just before the Panvel Railway Station. From the Khandeshwar, one may take an auto-rickshaw to reach IIG (near Victory Automobiles (Petrol Pump)) in 5-8 minutes. The second nearest train station is Panvel, where one may take an auto-rickshaw to reach IIG in about 15 minutes.
