About the Workshop

The Workshop is a good opportunity to learn about exciting new projects and development in the field of ECR Ion Sources and their related Science & Technology. It is also an opportunity for younger scientists to be involved and learn about this field. It is aimed to highlight the state of the art in ECR Ion Sources Science & Technology and to reinforce the common ground and synergies among the different actors in the field. The ECRIS workshop series has a long history (recently: 2012 Sydney, Australia; 2014 Nizhny Novgorod, Russia; 2016 Busan, South Korea; 2018 INFN, Catania, Italy; 2020 Michigan University, USA), promoting stimulating discussions and new collaborations, we want to encourage in this edition a stronger interaction by inserting three round tables on subjects that will cover a key role in the future evolution of ECR ion sources.

With this background and future scope of the importance of the ECR ion sources and their application, the 25th International Workshop on Electron Cyclotron Resonance Ion sources (ECRIS-2022) is being organized by Institute for Plasma Research, Bhat, Gandhinagar, and Gujarat, India in association with Board of Research in Nuclear Sciences (BRNS) during 12-14 October, 2022. This three-day workshop is aimed at showcasing some of the activities of the Indian research institute with a focus on ECR plasmas and their applications. The workshop also aims to provide the platform to various research institutes/laboratories to discuss their new development, challenges, and identify possible solutions. The speakers will include eminent scientists from different national and international research organizations, who will speak on topics keeping n view the theme of the workshop and share their thought on the subject.
