The power supply system for the Steady State Superconducting Tokamak (SST-1) integrates dedicated supplies for the superconducting Toroidal Field (TF) and Poloidal Field (PF) coils, resistive in-vessel coils for fast plasma position control, a dedicated Radial Control Coil (RCC/APC) power supply, and its associated converter transformer and DAC and monitoring system. All major power supply systems have been indigenously designed, developed, and commissioned at IPR for reliable steady-state operation. The AC network provides necessary a dedicated AC supply system to support long-pulse experiments. TFPS: This power supply provides the direct current required to generate the confining magnetic field for the TF coil system. It is a 12-pulse thyristor (SCR) converter-based system designed for steady-state operation. PFPS: This power supplies form a critical subsystem of the SST-1 tokamak, enabling precise control of plasma equilibrium, shaping, and vertical stability. These thyristor-based 12 pulse rectifiers power the PF1–PF6 coils (superconducting PF1–PF5 and resistive PF6). APC: The Active Position Controller (APC) coil power supply is a high-performance, IGBT-based inverter system to provide precise, high-speed vertical position control of the plasma in the SST-1 tokamak. FRBPS: The Fast Response Bipolar Power Supply is a high-performance, in-house developed power supply system designed to meet the demanding requirements of fast plasma control in the Aditya-U tokamak. Developed entirely within IPR, the FRBPS provides rapid current ramping and precise bipolar current control, making it suitable for applications such as auxiliary diverter coils and fast feedback systems.
