IPR is affiliated to Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI), a deemed-to-be university for all academic degrees. Our institute provides opportunities for highly motivated students pursuing doctoral research in the areas of Plasma Physics. Tokamak, basic plasma, and plasma applications are the key areas for doctoral research. The doctoral project addresses plasma theory, simulations, and experiments.

i.  Admissions : All applicants need to have cleared a national-level examination such as JEST, GATE, or CSIR-UGC-NET.

ii. Application Procedure : Eligible candidates can apply to the IPR Ph.D. programme by completing the online application form. A formal interview is conducted at IPR as part of the Ph.D. admission process.

iii. Scholarships : Selected students receive a scholarship of ₹37,000 plus applicable HRA for the first two years. From the third year onwards, the scholarship is ₹42,000 plus HRA. In addition, a contingency grant of ₹60,000 per year for five years is provided. Financial assistance up to ₹2.5 lakh is also available for attending international conferences, workshops, and schools.

DDFS is a prestigious doctoral research fellowship under the aegis of the Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI) offered by the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) for engineering postgraduates. The scheme is also hosted by IPR.

i.  Admissions : The admission to this scheme is done through BARC and applications are submitted via the official DAE portal.

iii. Scholarships : Selected students receive ₹80,000 per month, plus an annual contingency grant of ₹60,000 and financial assistance up to ₹2.5 lakh for attending an international conference.

i. Admissions ( IPR invites applications from candidates having Doctoral degree or holding provisional Degree can apply. )

iii. Scholarships. ( The postdoctoral fellows shall get a fixed sum of Rs 37000 + Applicable HRA for the first two years. The extension to the third year after successful review will award a sum of 2000 + HRA. In addition to that a Contingency of Rs 60,000. Financial assistance up to 2.5 L for attending a international conference.)
