Scientific Computing and Applications
Overview

The SCA Section maintains IPR’s High Performance computing systems (ANTYA and ANTYA-GPU) and provides support for computationally intensive applications. SCA Section takes care of Operational management of HPC systems; and provide support to various code and libraries compilation to users. HPC “ANTYA” is being used for a variety of numerical simulations covering computational fluid dynamics, particle-in-cell, Molecular Dynamics, MHD, AI/DL etc.

Scientific Computing and Applications
Activities

ANTYA is a High-Performance Computing (HPC) cluster established in July 2019 at IPR. ANTYA HPC is a 1 PETA FLOPS HPC system with more than 10000 cores. With a theoretical peak performance (Rpeak) of approximately 1 Peta Flops, ANTYA serves as a centralized HPC facility designed to meet the demanding computational needs of the IPR scientific and technical community. This advanced system empowers researchers to tackle larger and more detailed simulations, pushing the boundaries of existing research.

ANTYA-GPU HPC facility has been an exceptional tool for scaling up research activities at IPR, leading to an accelerated pipeline for quality publications. It is a 10 AI PETA FLOPS (mixed precision) GPU based HPC system. The system is operational since April, 2024 and is being used extensively by several users.
