Major responsibilities of Water Cooling and Air Conditioning Section include operation and maintenance of SST-1 water cooling plant (6 MW); SST-1 water distribution system, SST-1 AC plant (375 TR), Kitchen Basement AC plant (375 TR), New R&D AC Plant (1050 TR) and other standalone air conditioning and cooling water systems. WC&AC Section is committed to providing drinking water and a comfortable indoor environment by ensuring adequate air conditioning to all staff throughout IPR & FCIPT campuses.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supply DM water with low conductivity at the required temperature, pressure and flow rate to SST-1 Cryogenic; SST-1 Vacuum System; DST Gyrotron Lab; RF Lab; Aditya Lab; LHCD; P-NBI; N-NBI; NBI Cryogenic; ECRH; ICRH; LVPD and BETA Lab; ITER Cryogenic; ITER DNB; ITER ECH; ITER ICH.
• Operation and maintenance of 4 Nos. 310 TR centrifugal chillers, 6 Nos. 125 TR screw chillers, 3 Nos. 350 TR centrifugal chillers, AHUs, cooling towers, piping network, MCC panels, VFDs, etc.
• Maintenance of air-cooled package units of total capacity 153 TR, chiller package units of total capacity 192.62 TR, air washer units of total capacity 86,500 CFM, ductable split AC units of total capacity 75 TR, ventilation/exhaust units of total capacity 96,200 CFM, and DX-type centralized air conditioning systems of total capacity 219 TR.
• Maintenance of 350 split ACs and 100 drinking and experimental water coolers across the entire IPR and FCIPT campuses.
• Maintenance of 218 HP VRF AC systems in the New Additional Office Building, LHCD Lab and Thomson Scattering Lab.
• Operation and maintenance of soft water plants with a total capacity of 100 CMPH and DM water plants with a total capacity of 359.4 CMPH to maintain the required conductivity.
• Maintenance of separate cooling water systems with a total capacity of 640 TR for HVPS, HTTD, LLMH and RF Labs.
