2nd DAE Conclave TIFR, Mumbai, Maharashtra

DAE has hosted its 2nd Conclave (DAEC2026) at TIFR, Mumbai during 14th Jan -18th Jan, 2026, as a part of its Platinum Jubilee Celebration. This landmark event provides a platform for experts and participants from all the DAE units and its aided institutions to showcase their scientific and technological accomplishments. The Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) has significantly contributed to numerous national and international programs over the past seven decades. DAE has initiated an annual conclave to celebrate its scientific achievements and strategize for the future. Consequently, DAE hosted its inaugural event, the 1stDAE Conclave, at NISER during 22-26 October, 2024.
Theme of this 2nd DAE Conclave 2026: Creating Innovative Solutions for a Sustainable Future through Nuclear Horizons.

Institute for Plasma Research (IPR), Gandhinagar (Gujarat), actively participated in the Conclave presenting its cutting-edge research and developmental activities through five posters, highlighting its contributions to advancing plasma science and technology. Additionally, many models were also presented by the IPR Outreach Division.
The following five posters were presented from IPR:
1. ADITYA to ADITYA-U Tokamak at a Glance: Achievements and Insights
2. Overview of the SST-1 to SST-BHARAT Tokamak in Indian Fusion Research
3. Plasma Pyrolysis Technology- RAUDRA, for Eco Friendly Waste Destruction
4. Overview of ITER related activities at ITER-India, IPR
5. Vacuum & CDS system development at LIGO lab, IPR
Further enhancing the interactive experience at the event, Dr. Paritosh Chaudhuri, Dean R&D, IPR has delivered a comprehensive talk, shedding light on its pioneering work and vision for the future
The program highlights societal benifits of plasma like plasma pyrolysis, plasma sterilization, plasma for grooming, plasma for textile and other exhibits based on basic plasma. Students, faculty of TIFR and participants of 2nd DAE conclave visited IPR stall.
