DAE Platinum Jubilee National Science Day - 2024


Institute for Plasma Research (IPR), Gandhinagar is an aided institute under Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, involved in  R & D in the field of Plasma Fusion Science & Technology. This year's National NSD is being organized as part of the 70 year Jubilee celebrations of the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India.

As we have done in the past, this year also, we are planning to organize National Science Day 2024 during 10th and 11th February 2024 at our campus in Bhat, Gandhinagar, Gujarat 382428.

The National Science Day envisage interaction between students, teachers, public and scientists of IPR through Science Models/exhibits display, demonstrations, projects, skits & competitions like Quiz, Eloquence, Essay, Poster etc., for school students across Gujarat will be held in person at IPR this year. Though preliminary selection will be conducted online, the final events will be conducted at IPR this year and participants can physically attend the event.

It will be our pleasure to invite students and teachers of schools across Gujarat to actively participate in the program and contribute further in the awakening of the scientific sprit and enthusiasm among the people of our country.

Please refer to the Section-Competitions for the details of the program/schedule of the National Science Day-2024 (NSD2024) and do communicate with us well in advance before due date about the participation of your school with the details such as program wise number of students / teachers, etc., in the prescribed Google form so that we can make necessary arrangements.

NSD-2024 Organizing Team

National Science Day Rolling Trophy

From 2024, IPR is introducing a Rolling Trophy for best performing school during the National Science Day (NSD) competitions to be held at IPR, Bhat Campus during the month of February every year.

The following competitions will be held as part of the NSD 2024.

1)   Students Models (2 models per school),
2)   Quiz (1 team per school) 
3)   Eloquence (1 entry per language from a school - Hindi, English and Gujarati)
4)   Essay (1 entry per language from a school - Hindi, English and Gujarati),
5)   Posters (2 entries per school)
6)   Skit (1 team per school).
7)   Teachers’ Model (1 model per school)

Each event will have First, Second and Third prizes for winners.  

Points to be awarded for each prize are as follows;

First prize        - 10 points
Second prize    - 07 points
Third prize       - 05 points

The school that scores maximum points will be awarded the “National Science Day Rolling Trophy” for Best Performing School during prize distribution ceremony of NSD 2024.

This rolling trophy can be retained by the winning school for a period of ONE YEAR and will have to hand it over to IPR before the next NSD event.
